I offer nutrition counselling for:

  • Disordered eating associated with PCOS, IBS, allergies/intolerances, menopause, ADHD, ASD, alcohol.

Nutrition interventions are an essential part of treatment of anyone with disordered eating. I have been working with people with disordered eating for 20 years, and use the most up to date research, clinical experience and positive attitude to move my clients to a better and more peaceful place with food and eating.

Each of my clients is unique with their struggles and circumstances. My goal is to help you to reduce the confusion, fear and anxiety with eating, and to move towards becoming more confident with food.

Traditionally, seeing a registered dietitian involved the provision of a standardised meal plan, weight goals, and perhaps calorie targets.

Over the last number of years nutrition for disordered eating has evolved into nutrition therapy. The initial goal is to ensure that you are medically/nutritionally safe, followed by addressing the thoughts and feelings that are connected to your relationship with food and body. We work on providing 'scaffolding' of good nutrition to move you towards a more rational and 'normal' way of eating and thinking about food.

•    no judgement or lectures

•    providing some structure to remove confusion and anxiety

•    making sense of distorted views about food

•    talking about the fascinating science behind how food nourishes your mind and body

•    helping you tune in to your body and it's needs

•    addressing issues such as anxiety, sleep and digestive issues

What my clients/referrers say:

From a patient's psychotherapist: "I spoke with EM on Thursday, who couldn't have been any happier with your service/approach. She said the information you gave her was really useful, achievable and she knew that you 'got it'. She said she felt understood and heard."

"Thank you so so much this is so helpful , the new snack ideas are especially great! I finally feel so ready to completely commit 100% to recovery and get my life back! I hope this motivation continues as it’s so freeing! Again thank you so much for all your help you are a huge element in my full recovery you have no idea :) "

"Your help is great Sarah and I honestly know I couldn’t do this without you! Thank you. I just needed someone to talk to, get my anxieties out and wouldn’t judge me"

"It was 7 weeks yesterday since I last used laxatives, and over the past week I have seen a massive improvement in bloating and swelling. I am also not craving foods that I don’t want to eat, and I am not thinking much about food as much unless I am hungry and I really feel able to just eat as much as I want and stop."

"I am feeling a lot less stressed around food and feeling a lot more in control, which feels ironic when so much of my restricting was about control. I just cant believe it, I feel like I am eating proper food"
